So, some of you may or may not be aware that my laptop is broken. AGAIN. Fancy that.
However, this isn't a journal made for me to complain to you all about my woes and anger, this is a journal to tell you some good news!
Remember how I lost half of my Nina and the Boogeyman script? Well, luckily, I was able to move the half of the script that was left onto a more stable computer and work on it whenever I had some down time.
And yesturday (while I was sitting by myself, filled with dread over the oral surgery that was going to be performed on me today, which went perfectly well!) a miraculous thing happened. I found myself typing the final page of Nina and the Boogeyman.
My mind and heart were in it, of course, but for some reason it just came as a shock the moment I typed "THE END". Like...it's over? I finally finished it? Well, to say the least, yes. It is over. But it's only the end of the script, and with this end a new beginning opens. And that beginning is the actual comic!
So, today, after my surgery, I sat in my room with my mouth full of blood and started fleshing out the storyboards. I'm super motivated guys, and plan to start the actual comic right away! Well, once I get at least 50 of the pages storyboard'd. Which is quite simple and shouldn't take that long.
Wish me luck, guys! Ooh, and if you have or do belong to the
Boogeyman Group I beg of you to please write a simple character overview and a simple character ref (With colors, please!) for the comic! It doesn't matter if you're inactive, left the group, whatever! Your characters will still appear in the comic at some point or another. Some will have major roles, some not so major; but they will all be there all the same. If you'd like to look into making a character for the comic please read the rules,
here. (That outline is somewhat outdated, so I might end up just typing a better, more in-depth outline.) You don't have to join the Tegaki E group to have your boogey in the comic, just draw a colored picture and write a nice little paragraph about said boogey and send it to me. If you have any questions don't hesitate to note or comment me.
You may ask me, how are you going to get any newly created Boogies into the comic? Easy enough, I'll squeeze something around them. Like, a simple side conversation, a visit to their shop. Something a long those lines. I'll tell you now, that the Boogies that play the most major roles out of the group are
Vin, Twist, Zaga, Dimitry, Oogie and
Biro. They're basically the (mostly) active Boogey-Veterans. If a new interesting Boogie is created, who seems like they could play a good major/semi-major role, I can always work the script around them.
Now, I know that this is a little far in advance, but I'm also starting to flesh out an idea for a
second Nina and the Boogeyman comic (The sequal will not necessarily be titled that). I know, I know, I haven't even started with the first NatB pages yet! But it took me almost eight years to get NatB fleshed out in my mind so I might as well get cooking!
So, now that that's all done and said, who's exciteddd?
